  • Is the price displayed per person or per boat?

Price is per boat

  • Can I take my dog on a boat? 

Yes, you can bring your dog on the boat.

  • Are there any age requirements for the boat hire?

Children from the age of 3yrs and up are welcome on our boats. When rowing with children please ensure kids are seated at all time & adults are in control of rowing the vessel.

  • Do i make payment on the day or at the time of booking?

Payment is made in full at the time of booking online.

Menu
  • Do you cater for dietary requirements? 

Our menu has a range of options that can accommodate for vegetarian, vegan and gluten friendly diets. Please note all dietary requirements when you are placing a booking, or for any specific dietaries not listed, please reach out to our team to confirm options. 

  • What dining options do you have?

Our kitchens are open bright and early with plenty of choice throughout the day. Our breakfast menu runs from 8am -11.30am, followed by Lunch service, and Dinner service on Fridays & Saturdays.

Celebrations & Wedding
  • Can I book a wedding? Can you hold the ceremony? 

Yes, you can book both the ceremony and reception with us. The ceremony can be held riverside on the Deck. Visit our events page to find out more & send an enquiry to our functions team here.

  • Can I bring a cake? 

Celebrations are a big thing, so we appreciate this special gesture. Our guests are more than welcome to bring along a cake. Please note that no prior storage will be possible. 

  • Can I buy a gift voucher? 

Of Course! You can purchase gift vouchers here 

Bookings
  • What are your trading hours? 

Studley Park boathouse is open 7 days a week.  Sunday to Thursday – 8am – 5pm. Friday & Saturday 8am – 9pm

  • Do I have to make a booking? 

We do advise making a booking where possible, however we do have walk-in space available, but please be aware during peak season it can get very busy & spots are filled fast.

During weekend trading hours we do offer a waitlist at the door – simple join the walk-in queue and our team will take your details and text you when we have a table available so you get to enjoy a stroll in the park while you wait.

  • Can I request a specific location in the venue? 

Our team do take requests for certain seating locations and will do their best to accommodate this for you on the day, however this is not guaranteed. Just make a note in the booking if you would like to request a specific area. 

  • What happens to my reservation if it is raining? 

We may need to move your booking to a more sheltered area to accommodate for wet weather, our team will do our best to accommodate through the unpredictable Melbourne seasons. 

  • Where can I book if I want table service? 

Our Conservatory is full table service. You can still order via the table QR codes if preferred.  

  • Is there shade if it’s hot? 

Most areas are under the shade of fixed to the ground umbrellas, as the sun moves different table will be under shade. Our staff will assist you to find the most comfortable space for you. 

  • Where is the best spot to book for large groups? 

For larger groups, we recommend booking inside the Conservatory space. If it was an outdoor space, you were looking for, then the Lower Deck Section is the place for you. 

 

Venue
  • Can you tell me about all the different spaces at Studley Park? 

Since it’s renovation, Studley Park Boathouse has many different areas available for our guests to enjoy. The Perch (The Original boathouse café) offers the perfect setting for post walk coffees, breakfast & brunch menu items. Our Conservatory is the perfect setting for lunch with the girls, a family gathering or a casual mid-week meal. With stunning views of the Yarra, a wide choice of wines & cocktails & an extensive menu of sharing items and main meals. Outdoors– As the weather warms up, our outdoor spaces are the perfect spot for a cold drink, delicious snacks & epic views. Our pavilion, upper and lower decks & pergola open 7days a week from 8am. Although we cannot guarantee exactly where your outdoor booking will be, our team will do their best to accommodate any requests made.

  • Is your venue wheelchair accessible?

Yes! Apart from the Perch Café, the rest of our venue is wheelchair accessible. Feel free to give us a call for further information or on arrival request assistance from our hosts.

  • Is my dog welcome?

100%! Pooches of all shapes and sizes are welcome in our outdoor spaces, we just ask that they remain on leash. We have water bowls to keep them hydrated & doggie treats on sale on site.

  • Is there live music? When is it on?

No, we currently do not have live music.

  • Can I buy a gift voucher?

Of Course! You can purchase gift vouchers here

Transport & Parking at Studley Park
  • Is there Parking?

Please note, parking is available but will be limited on the day. Public transport & ride share options are recommended.

Parking is available in the main parking area, off Boathouse Rd (located next to the Studley Park Boathouse and picnic area). Additional parking is available further up on Yarra Blvd. A short walk down the hill will be required from this location.

  • If I am not driving, how can I get to the venue?

BY BUS:

Bus Stop: Yarra Bend Park/Studley Park Rd, Kew VIC 3101

BY TRAIN:
The nearest train station to Yarra Bend Park/Studley Park Rd (Kew) is Victoria Park, a 14 min walk away.                                     

RIDE SHARE:

There is a designated area for Ride Share drop-offs and pick-ups, past the main parking area located next to the Studley Park Boathouse and picnic area.

Where is the best spot to drop off an elderly person so they don’t need to walk very far?  

There is a ride share drop off point located at the entrance to Studley Park Boathouse, from this point there is a short walk to the Conservatory or our outdoor spaces. 

  • Do I need to get an Uber? 

It’s not essential but we do recommend ride share or public transport on weekends, there is parking on Studley Park Road which is a 5 min walk from the venue 

  • How long does it take to walk from the Studley Road parking to the venue? 

Approximately 5 – 7mins

Commitment to Child Safety

Studley Park Boathouse is committed to ensuring the safety of all children and young people.

Is the program accessible?

We do our best to ensure Mini Explorers remains accessible to children with special needs – please get in touch with our team at community.spb@ausvenueco.com.au with any questions you may have. We believe all children should have the chance to experience the wonders of nature and the joy of learning through our Mini Explorers program and will do our best to accommodate requests as best we can.

What should my child wear?

To fully enjoy your Mini Explorers experience, come prepared with weather-appropriate clothing, such as hats, jackets, and raincoats, and sunscreen all year round.

What happens if it rains?

The Mini Explorers program will still go ahead in most weather conditions, moving undercover when needed. However, sessions may be cancelled in the event of extreme weather conditions – we will always contact you ahead of the session should this be the case!

Do parents need to stay with their children during the program?

Yes, all minors must be accompanied by and supervised by an adult at all times during the Mini Explorers program. We ask that parents or guardians stay nearby to oversee their children’s safety and enjoyment.

Should my child attend more than one session?

Absolutely! There are over 20 different Mini Explorers sessions – ranging from Making Seed Bombs, Building Nature Journals & watercolors from the Garden.

What does the session cost?

Our fun & interactive sessions are just $5 per child and include guidance from an experienced facilitator plus materials for the day’s activity. As part of our commitment to the community, $1 from each registration will be donated to Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Cultural Heritage.

Are bookings essential?

We highly recommend booking ahead to avoid disappointment! There is a maximum capacity of 15 Mini Explorers per session, aside from specialist sessions such as our Pizza Workshop, where the capacity increases. To reserve a spot in one of our sessions book online here. 

When & where are Mini Explorer sessions held?

Mini Explorers are available every Sunday with 45-minute sessions at 9am, 10.15am and 2pm. Each week, our Mini Explorers sign will be out and visible to direct you to our dedicated space. Depending on the weather, we will either be underneath the pergola, overlooking the river, or in our own little Mini Explorers Marquee!

What ages is the Mini Explorers program suitable for?

The program is designed for kids aged 6-12 years old.
